Pros and cons of TransitTimes Vancouver - Translink / BC Transit trip planning & offline schedules app for iPhone and iPad

TransitTimes Vancouver - Translink / BC Transit trip planning & offline schedules app good for

I am a very active transit user with no car and a lot of local travel. I had some problems with location not found in search early on, but this is apparently solved. The app is as accurate as the Translink schedule is, but not of course as good as real time bus tracking. Still I find this is my first choice for getting where I need to go
Better now than when it first came out...wanted to throw my phone every time I tried to look something up. Now the only thing that bothers me is that I always have to find my location in the iPhone map app and then go into the transit app from there because the transit app usually cant find the cross streets Im looking for....And theyre not even obscure ones. It also will tell me theres no transit routes for certain locations when I know there is. Much better but still not best.
This app is really good. I rely heavily on public transportation to commute to and from work every day from downtown to North Van. This app allows me to check bus schedules where ever, whenever. And its great that there are options to click on maps to view your route, and to check individual bus route time tables. Its accurate with bus arrival countdowns and with explaining the route in a easy readable way. Reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that sometimes it directs me to the wrong street to catch a bus, only after a weekly update does it correct this issue. I wish Apple had included this in their new Maps app. Its a shame you have to pay for it, but it is well worth it!
I recommend this app for anyone using transit in the lower mainland. Its great for making trains on time!
Very good, always accurate and a big help, when I need to get from place to place.
Save as many trips as you want, and all of the schedules are available for offline viewing as well. Fantastic.

Some bad moments

Horrible if you dont know the bus you need to take and dont have internet!
You think if you brought the actually Translink app you would have the most correct information, well this is not the case have continually received wrong information about bus schedules. Get Hop Stop its free and provides correct schedules.
Have tried to run the App to tell me when the next Bus is arriving, using Route and Bus Stop information. It does not give accurate results and takes a lot of steps to get to even where the right information should be. Wasted my money on this App!!
One manually enters routes specifying bus or train and then which number (who cares? I just need to get from point A to point B) and it hangs taking up to 3 minutes to respond to a simple bus stop query. Overall the user interface is arranged as if for a data-entry clerk from the early 90s rather than your typical present day user.
Downloaded app and installed all updates. When Get Directions is selected program freezes and locks up completely. Terrible app.
I used to use this app all the time and recommended it to everyone. However with the recent update I am unable to type in the name of the location I am headed, like orpheum theatre, it wants the address not just the location name. Not very convenient when you are on the move. Unless this changes again I would suggest going with a different transit app.
